Today we're excited to announce our partnership with ReductStore, the high-performance time-series object storage purpose-built for edge computing and robotics data.
This partnership formalizes something that has been true in our product for a while: ReductStore is the storage engine behind INSAION's edge recording. Every rolling buffer, every device recording, and every surgical cloud sync in the platform runs on ReductStore technology embedded directly in the INSAION Agent.
Why This Partnership Matters
Robotics teams live with a hard constraint: their most valuable data (camera frames, LiDAR point clouds, high-frequency control signals) is also their heaviest. Streaming it all to the cloud is expensive and often physically impossible on real-world connectivity. Capturing nothing means flying blind when an incident happens.
Solving that requires a storage layer on the robot itself that can:
- Ingest fast: absorb bursts of multimodal sensor data without dropping messages.
- Retain smartly: keep the most recent, most relevant data within a fixed disk budget.
- Retrieve precisely: find the exact 90 seconds around an incident without scanning terabytes.
That is exactly what ReductStore is built for. Its time-series blob model, FIFO quota management, and label-based querying map one-to-one onto how robots actually produce data, which is why we chose it as the foundation of our edge recording stack.
What It Means for You
If you're an INSAION user, nothing changes in your workflow, but a lot is already working for you under the hood:
- Rolling Buffer, powered by ReductStore. Your robots continuously record configured pipelines into a local, space-bounded buffer that automatically cycles out the oldest data. Zero cloud cost until you need it.
- Surgical cloud sync. When an alarm fires or an operator requests it, only the relevant time window leaves the robot, read straight out of the local ReductStore instance and uploaded to the cloud.
- Resilience by design. Connectivity drops don't stop recording. The edge buffer keeps capturing, and uploads resume when the link is back.
- A roadmap built together. We're working directly with the ReductStore team to push the boundaries of edge-to-cloud robotics data management; expect deeper integrations and new capabilities in upcoming releases.
The Bigger Picture
Great robotics observability is a data problem before it is a dashboard problem. By partnering with ReductStore, we're doubling down on the layer that makes everything else possible: reliable, efficient, high-fidelity capture of what your robots actually did.
Record everything that matters at the edge. Sync only what you need to the cloud. That's the joint promise of INSAION and ReductStore.
