Stage 2 · Soak tests & field trials
Prove it works before the rollout
Insaion turns soak tests and pilots into recorded, measurable evidence. A live view of every pilot unit, acceptance criteria as alarms, and the recording when you're not on site.
Built for: Test, integration and deployment engineers
The gap between lab and first customer
“I run a six-hour soak test and watch a terminal.”
Soak tests leave nothing behind
Hours of console output, no structured result. A spike at hour four slips by.
“The customer says it stalled on Tuesday. I wasn't there.”
You can't see the pilot site
Someone else's network. By the time you get in, the data is gone.
“Is it ready? Depends who you ask.”
Sign-off by opinion
No agreed thresholds, no record of each run. Acceptance becomes a debate.
Acceptance you can measure
Every run recorded. Every threshold checked.
Acceptance criteria as alarms
Motor temperature, battery, CPU, topic rate or any custom metric. Alarms fire as soon as the data arrives.
Incident history with durations
Device, value, start and duration for every alarm. The raw material for your acceptance report.
Rolling buffer on the robot
MCAP to disk within a fixed budget, online or offline. Nothing leaves the robot until you ask.
Copilot incident analysis
Ask what happened. Copilot correlates the telemetry, then pulls and analyzes the matching MCAP window once you approve.

From soak test to site acceptance
- 1
Install the agent on the pilot units
One command on Ubuntu 22.04, 24.04 or 26.04. With an enrollment key, new units configure themselves on first boot.
- 2
Turn acceptance into alarm rules
Agree thresholds once. Apply them to every unit under test.
- 3
Run the soak test or pilot
Watch live from anywhere. Every breach lands in incident history with its duration.
- 4
Pull the evidence
Upload the minutes around each incident and replay them. No site visit, no SSH.
- 5
Sign off with data
No incidents, it passed. Otherwise, you have the recording of why.
“Incredibly valuable, especially during new deployments.” Stevedan Omodolor, BitMetrics
What Insaion does not do yet
- Insaion doesn't produce a formatted acceptance or soak-test report yet. Incident history and dashboards hold the data you'd put in one.
- Recordings don't upload on their own when an alarm fires. You pick the time range, or approve a Copilot request.
Frequently asked questions
How do you monitor a robot during a field trial at a customer site?
Install the Insaion agent on the pilot unit. It connects outbound over port 443, so it works behind customer firewalls, and streams live telemetry to your dashboards. It also keeps an MCAP buffer on the robot, so you can upload the data from an incident later without visiting the site.
What tools exist for robot soak testing and endurance testing?
Insaion supports soak testing by turning acceptance criteria into alarm rules on any metric over a time window. Each breach is logged in incident history with its duration, and the MCAP buffer on the robot keeps the raw data around each event.
How do you validate an AMR before a site rollout?
Agree measurable acceptance thresholds, apply them as alarms to every unit, run the robots on site for a set period, then review incident history and recordings. Insaion handles the monitoring, alarming and recording for each of those steps.
Does Insaion work without ROS 2?
Yes. The agent runs on plain Ubuntu 22.04, 24.04 and 26.04, collects host metrics and accepts OpenTelemetry metrics, logs and traces from any language. ROS 2 topic monitoring switches on when ROS 2 Humble or later is present.
Do I need a real robot to try Insaion?
No. The agent runs on any Linux machine, including a laptop running a ROS 2 simulation. You can also look around a read-only demo fleet in the Insaion sandbox without signing up.
